Small Facts & Random Tid Bits

So like I stated earlier, this blog is not only dedicated to my business, but it is also about me as a photographer. I don't want to be one of those bloggers that just posts the photos and goes on their way - but instead I want to share the ups and the downs and the random bits of information people may not know about me :)

For starters: My real name is Jessica.

Yup! That's right. I said it. Jessica. I won't share middle names due to the fact that I am horrifically mortified by my middle name (it's really not that bad I'm sure) but when and if you ever get to meet me in person, you will probably agree with me when I say I am just "Jaye."

I would also like to add that this sudden change in blogging has been inspired by my previous blog I had started after graduating college - sharing one photo a day describing post graduate life in the 'real world'. There were a few select people that inspired this 'personalization' we could call it - including my family and friends. So sit back, relax and enjoy the 'blog' as I hope to update it more with not just shoots I do with clients, but fun tid bits that help you learn more about "Jaye" :)

Birthday candles and Zumba!

While I skim this blog and read up on past posts, I realize there isn't much about "Jaye." So today's post is going to be the start of something new - my photography and business, but also: myself. Just a few days ago, on the 14th I celebrated my birthday. A good ol' boring Monday it was at my day job - until later that evening when I taught my Monday night Zumba class. A quick side note here for those that don't know what Zumba is - it is a cardio dance fitness class based off of international rhythms - and its AWESOME. I love my class, my students, the atmosphere, the music and everything about it. It truly is a great program and I feel so honored to teach the class and meet so many great women (and men!) . Today's photo will show you just how much I love my zeeps a.k.a. Zumba peeps because one of my students made me a t-shirt for my birthday! So just a quick 'Thank you!' to everyone that wished me a happy birthday on Monday :)

Bern's Marathon Journey | New York Portrait Photographer

My older sister, Bernadette ran the NYC ING Marathon 1 week ago. It was her first - but according to her it won't be her last and apparently I am going to be joining her next year! (yikes!) Bern ran with Team USO and raised money for the charity. It was a great cause and she hopes to keep fundraising for them in her next marathon. Here is the video I made of her marathon weekend:

The day after the October 'snowstorm' I got to photograph my awesome neighbors and their newest addition to the family - Max! He was such a little ham in front of the camera! We had a lot of fun walking around Rutgers Gardens and checking out the snowy trees :)
